SkyCoin (SKC) is the native cryptocurrency powering the SKYNET ecosystem — a comprehensive platform combining AI services, financial infrastructure, and digital identity tools.
SKC was created to serve as a universal medium of exchange within SKYNET: from trading on MyCryptoGate exchange to paying for AI services, search, and storage across the ecosystem.
SkyCoin (SKC) is a fixed-supply cryptocurrency designed to serve as the native currency of the SKYNET ecosystem — a suite of interconnected AI-powered digital services. Unlike speculative-only cryptocurrencies, SKC is engineered with real utility at its core: every service within the SKYNET network accepts and requires SKC, creating sustainable organic demand.
This document outlines the technical architecture, tokenomics, governance principles, and long-term vision for SKC and the SKYNET ecosystem.
The cryptocurrency space is dominated by two categories: store-of-value tokens with limited utility (Bitcoin-like), and speculative tokens with promised but undelivered utility. SKC takes a third approach — launch with live infrastructure first, then grow the token value through demonstrated utility.

SKC launches with MyCryptoGate exchange as the primary trading and holding venue, giving the token immediate real-world utility from day one. Every subsequent SKYNET service adds another layer of demand.
SKC implements a tiered account model that balances privacy with regulatory compliance. Guest (Tier 1) wallets are fully anonymous with usage limits. Standard (Tier 2) requires email verification. Verified (Tier 3) provides full fiat access.
The protocol is designed with internet-scale monetary capacity. The hard maximum supply is 1,000,000,000,000,000 SKC (1 quadrillion) — this is a protocol ceiling, not the amount issued or in circulation. The working initial issued supply is 100,000,000 SKC. Maximum supply ≠ issued supply ≠ circulating supply. Economic parameters are part of Blueprint v0.5 (working design). This creates a deflationary pressure as demand grows with ecosystem expansion.
Phase 1 (current): SKC runs on a proprietary ledger backed by AWS DynamoDB with Point-In-Time Recovery. All transactions are recorded on the SKC blockchain explorer at blockchain.skycoin.online.
Phase 2 (Q3 2026): Migration to a PostgreSQL-based immutable ledger with full Merkle tree verification, public blockchain API, and cryptographic transaction signing.
Phase 3 (2027+): Cross-chain bridges, DEX liquidity pools, and integration with major centralized exchanges.
The legal structure, issuer entity and jurisdiction for SKC are under review and have not been finalized. The Board of Directors holds reserved SKC allocations and participates in strategic decisions. All governance actions — minting, burning, account freezing — are logged in a tamper-evident audit trail.
SkyCoin (SKC) is the planned native digital currency of the SKYNET distributed AI ecosystem. It is designed to connect useful computing resources, AI services and digital payments through a shared economic layer.
